The proud, the shiny, the powerful metasearch engine Searx inspired by the seeks project is now online.

Announcement

Since few months, or maybe few years, I don't remember exactly... the old service Seeks was down because of lack of maintenance. What is a better idea to deploy it again under a new skin, based on a stronger architecture ?...

The new service is running in a Docker container with Alpine Linux 3.6 to garantee security. This container is so confined, no volumes exposed outside on the host machine, even the listening port is confined on the localhost interface. Just behind, we have 2 reverses proxies, one on the host machine off-course, the second-one is located somewhere on the Internet and wait for users with Let's Encrypt certificates. Between the 2 proxies, connections are also encrypted with 4096 bits RSA keys.  Every week the container is automaticaly respawned, logs are lost, statistics are dropped, and keys are regenerated. This is the Respawn of the system.

However, for users which claim for more privacy, there is a way to talk secretly with the engine. The engine is connected to the Tor Network and is reachable by a true onion address.

You are flying with Casper, welcome on board...
